GCIS Care
GCIS Care is our dedicated community outreach program that aims to recognize, support and provide resources to non-profit organizations, with the ultimate goal of generating a positive impact within our local, regional and global communities.
This year’s spotlight organization
We are recognizing Code.org®, an education innovation nonprofit dedicated to the vision that every student in every school has the opportunity to learn computer science as part of their core K-12 education.
As the leading provider of K-12 computer science curriculum in the largest school districts in the United States, Code.org® also organizes the annual Hour of Code campaign, which has engaged more than 15% of all students in the world.

Supporting Code.org® at
GCIS
To make this all possible, Code.org® is supported by generous donors including Ingram Micro, Microsoft, Amazon, Google and many others.
At this year’s summit event, you can help support their vision by donating to designated areas throughout the event.
Can’t make it to GCIS? You can still show Code.org® you care. Learn more about their great work and discover how you can make an impact.
ARIA Resort & Casino’s Behind-the-Scenes Impact
There’s a reason why we are hosting our flagship event at the ARIA Resort & Casino – they are just as committed to ESG principles as we are.
At this year’s summit, and in close partnership with the ARIA Resort & Casino, we are maximizing efforts in contributing to ESG efforts by:
- Hosting this year’s event at a venue that’s committed to DE&I.
- Leveraging efficiency building design features of meeting spaces, such as LED lighting and smart thermostats.
- Sourcing energy from a 100MW Mega Solar Array – this can produce 90% of the daytime power needs of MGM Resorts’ entire Las Vegas portfolio.
- Using in-room technologies, efficient systems, equipment and appliances to lower the use of resources.
- Reducing waste footprint and maximizing diversion rate through an advanced recycling program.
- Donating unserved food to local charities and food banks.
- Conserving water through reusable water bottles and drink filling stations + benefitting from water-efficient design features that promote water savings.
- Promoting wellness activities—i.e., Women in Tech yoga session.
Gain a behind-the-scenes look into how the ARIA is promoting sustainable management practices by joining an ESG-focused tour on Monday, May 15 at 4:30 p.m. PST.
Interested in joining? Meet us in front of the ARIA’s patio bar, Salt & Ivy – located next to the buffet on the 2nd Level Promenade – to join the tour.
